Refresh & Watch: Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026 · Applies to the Refresh & Watch browser extension for Chrome and Edge
Short version: Refresh & Watch has no analytics or tracking. Website content is read on your device only and is never collected. If you buy Pro (when available), ExtensionPay and Stripe handle the payment and your email.
Website content: read on your device, never collected
When you turn on a text alert (or "pause while typing", error detection or auto-start) for a site, the extension reads that page's text inside your browser after each reload to look for the text you chose. That page content is not stored, not sent to us or anyone else, and not used for any other purpose. The extension does this only on sites you have explicitly allowed.
What the extension stores, and where
- Your settings (timer intervals, the text you watch for, per-site preferences) are kept in your browser's extension storage (
chrome.storage) on your device. - Chrome sync: if you are signed in to your browser with sync turned on, the browser may sync your saved settings between your own devices through your browser account (Google for Chrome, Microsoft for Edge). We never receive them.
- Running timers are kept in temporary browser storage and cleared when the browser closes.
What we do not do
- No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no cookies, no remote code.
- We do not sell, share or transfer user data, and we do not use it for creditworthiness, lending or any purpose other than the extension's single purpose (refreshing pages and alerting you).
Permissions
- Installing asks for no access to your websites. The extension can reload a tab, but can't read it.
- When you turn on an alert or another page-reading option for a site, the browser asks you to allow access to that one site. You can remove it any time from the extension's details page.
- Notifications are requested only when you first turn on desktop alerts.
Payments (Pro only)
The current version is free and makes no payment-related network requests. If a Pro upgrade is offered in a later version, it is handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) with Stripe processing the payment. Only if you choose to upgrade: ExtensionPay creates an anonymous ID for your copy of the extension and stores your email address and payment/subscription status so it can unlock Pro and restore it on your other devices, and Stripe processes your card. We never see or store card details. The extension keeps only a cached "Pro / not Pro" status on your device. See https://extensionpay.com and https://stripe.com/privacy. If you never click Upgrade, the extension never contacts ExtensionPay.
Children
The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at https://zecro.io/apps/chrome/refresh-and-watch/privacy with a new "Last updated" date.
